It depends on where it is. If you keep them indoors then you shouldn't because summer brings heat but when summer comes so does air conditioning.Outdoors it wouldn't be necessary to keep it on, but it should be in your best interest and best judgment to keep it on.
if you have it in an air conditioned room with no sunlight reaching the cage then yes also mist the cage twice a day
Using a heating lamp for a corn snake is not a bad thing, however not necessary. As a North American species it is adapted to live at low temperatures during winter and high temperatures during summer. During lower temperatures snakes become less active and can hibernate. The addition of both a heat lamp and heat pad won't harm the snake as long as the snake has a place to go to escape both if it so chooses.
corn snakes can out grow their tanks. they are not limited to the size of the tank. and when they do grow out, a new tank should be bought. id say about a 20-30 gallon tank is best for corn snakes.
Yes, corn snakes do need a source opf heat in their tank to keep their body temperature high enough, (75-80 degrees f). but heating pads aren't the best thing for the snakes because if it gets too hot, it will burn the snake as they do not have senses in theire scales. A heating lamp is a much better alternative.
