At best a lower temp t-stat. should only be used as a TEMPORARY fix while you track down the actual cause of the overheating issue. I would check to make sure your cooling fan is coming on, the flow rate of the radiator to rule out blockage and the water pump to make sure it is circulating the coolant.
Follow the UPPER radiator hose from the radiator to where it connects to the engine block. The thermostat should be right there.
Should be in a removable housing at the engine end of the upper radiator hose
Thermostats range in temperature from 175-205 degrees. Choose a 195 degree thermostat and you'll be fine.
4 cyl = 180 thermostat 6 cyl = 195 thermostat
Should be less than/around $10.00.
the thermostat should have the long part facing down
TWO DEGREES
192 degree
should be the same temperature as your thermostat rating...generally around 190 to 195 degrees.
It should be on top in the intake manifold it should be near the thermostat housing. Good Luck !
Probably a 195 (F) degree thermostat. That would be what the system is designed for.
Whatever degree the installed thermostat is. Typically 195 degrees if it has a 195 degree thermostat.
