you would have to ck to see if the coil wire has spark pull off cap and put near part of engine and see if has plenty of spark
Spark plugs, yes. Points, no.
Unless it has a diesel engine, yes it has points (could be electronic) and spark plugs.
Clean plugs new ones maybe new points
Actually , with the electronic ignition there are no points , and the scheduled maintainence guide shows to change the spark plugs at ( 100,000 miles )
Check the ballist resister on fire wall !!!!
When closed the coil "saturates" with voltage and when the points open the coil dumps its electrical load to the spark plug. If the points open at the right time then the spark arrives at the plugs at the proper time - then the car is "in tune" So the points basically cause your car to have spark and have the spark at the right time.
Gap the spark plugs to .035. Set the points to .018.
Ummmm......... I think you want to use spark plug wires.
how would you go about changing the spark plugs in a 1999 Lexus ES 300?
It is best to go with the factory used spark plugs. The factory uses champions.
The best spark plugs are the original equipment plugs that were installed by the manufacturer at the factory. Sometimes you may need to go to a dealer to get the exact plugs.
when do you change spark plugs
