If the speedometer is an analog style, which uses a speedometer cable instead of a sensor, carefully remove the screws from around the instrument cluster bezel, there should be approx. 4 screws in the top securing it to the dash, and you will probably need to remove some trim pieces from around the radio, and the trim on the left side of the steering column. If you have tilt steering place the column in the lowest position it will go, this makes pulling the bezel and cluster easier to do. With the small trim pieces removed, there are usually a few more screws to remove from the base of the cluster bezel, small black, or white tabs with the screws through them. After the plastic bezel cover is removed, there will be approx. 4 more screws in the actual cluster one in each corner, after removing these and all visible screws from the cluster, carefully pull out the cluster till you feel resistance, that will be the speedometer cable causing this resistance. Carefully reach behind the spedometer and unsnap the plastic collar holding the cable to the cluster. This is the annoying part, most often the collar doesn't want to let go. Be patient, when the collar unsnaps, you can pull out the cluster, look closely to make sure there are no electrical connections on the back of the cluster, if there are, unsnap these also. The cluster should come out ok after this. Sometimes it's wedged in there pretty good, just work it out side to side, or tilt the bottom edge up a bit. If it's electronic, same as above, just unplug all the connections from the back of the cluster.
