Vehicle Speed Sensor
The contacts between the speedometer head and the wiring connector need to be cleaned. If that does not work get a used speedometer. It fixed mine.
If a 1992 Honda Civic's speedometer is erratic, the problem could be the speedometer cable. It could also be the speedometer sensor malfunctioning. Check both components carefully.
Have electronic vehicle speed sensor in transmission checked out. It will cause loss of speedometer function and set a fault code(check engine light).
Cable could be loose.
Your speedometer might not be connected if it does not work. It might also have blown a fuse if it is an electronic speedometer or it could have a wire that is loose.
I had the same problem with a 1992 Park Avenue with the 3800 engine. I first replaced the electronic ignition but that did not fix the problem. I then replaced the crankshaft heat sensor. That fixed my problem.
The problem is inside the speedo and has to go to a speedo shop to be repaired.
If the speedometer in your Voyager is not working, you might have a problem with a disconnected cable or with the fuse to the display. You could also have an issue with a sensor.
The 1987 Celebrity uses an electronic speedometer. There is a VSS(vehicle speed sensor) on the trans-axle that could have failed. The speedometer itself may have failed, the ECM (engine control module "computer") may have failed or there could be wiring issues.
my directional lights and speedometer do not work could this be control mudule?
If the speedometer and the odometer are not working, I would suspect the VSS (vehicle speed sensor). If only the speedometer is not working I would suspect the instrument cluster has problems.
A 1991 dodge dynasty speedometer bouncing could be a sticking speedometer cable, or a bad drive gear. Check the cable first, and lubricate it to see if the problem stops.
