All the major religions have an expected redeemer. In Judaism it is the Messiah (Moshiach in Hebrew). In Christianity, the second coming of Christ. In Hinduism, the Kalki Avatar. In Buddhism, Maitreya Buddha. In Islam, the Hidden Imam. All the world is suffering in turmoil and waiting for a savior in human form who is described as either divine or as a great spiritual leader ordained by God. Each religion defines the conditions differently regarding how to recognize the Messiah, where and to whom the Messiah will appear, what will be the signs, and so on. These differences of religious dogma make it difficult for all humanity to agree and unite in their expectation. To add to the confusion, there are various "claimants to the throne," people who claim to be the awaited one. Of all these, there is one whom I feel stands out from all the rest. He is Meher Baba, who has declared, "I was Rama, I was Krishna, I was this One, I was that One, and now I am Meher Baba. In this form of flesh and blood, I am that same Ancient One who is eternally worshipped and ignored, ever remembered and forgotten. I am that Ancient One whose past is worshipped and remembered, whose present is ignored and forgotten, and whose future Advent is anticipated with great fervour and longing.... I am in you all. I never come and I never go. I am present everywhere." Before you condemn or ridicule, please take the time to learn something about Meher Baba, who brings the eternal message: "Love God." I ask people of other faiths peacefullyand with mutual respect to share their understanding of the Messiah or the Christ here. I will post a Meher Baba link here, and you can post your links to the Messiah as you understand him (or her?).

For Christians, Jesus was their saviour. However, Jesus plays absolutely no role in Judaism.
