I doubt it as German Troops were barely 25 km from HQ at one point. Even if Stalin wanted allies to divert German troops away fro mEastern front, it was CCCP who ended up bearing the brunt of the German ground offensive, esp. the dreaded Jager and Kliest divisions. The German GROUND MACHINE was halted only @ Stalingrad....
OF COURSE Stalin wanted to a void a war w/ Germany...whgich leader in the right sense of mind would want to start an issue w/ a superpower....? That too just coming out of a revolution??? But Stalin did take the Wehrmacht on & faced w/ them when he had to.
Both "UK & US" and "USSR" had "enemy of the enemy is my friend" attitude when dealing w/ nazi Germany, and the trust between "allies" stopped right beyond sharing a common foe (Nazi Germany)
