Horse latitudes or Subtropical High are subtropic latitudes between 30 and 35 degrees both north and south.
You are thinking of the Horse latitudes.
Three climate regions based on latitude are low latitude, medium latitude, and high latitude. Low latitude is the hottest area in the earth. It is called the low latitudes because it is near the Equator which is 0 degrees. It only gets as high as 23.5 degrees north or south. It is sometimes referred to as the earth's band. It is in between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn. It is hot all year. Medium latitudes are the in between regions of the world. It is called the middle latitudes because it is in between the high and low latitudes and has middle latitude degrees. They have four seasons and have both hot and cold weather. They range from the Tropic of Cancer to the North Pole and the Tropic of Capricorn to the South Pole. It is called the high latitudes because it has the highest latitudes of up to 90 degrees north or south The high latitudes range from The North Pole and up to the South Pole and lower.
Both latitudes of 90 degrees mark the north and south poles.
Horse latituds are sub-tropical latitudes between 30 and 35 degrees, both north and south.
The Horse Latitudes are the calm areas on Earth's surface where warm air rises at the equator. The warm air also divides and flows both north and south.

The doldrums is a colloquial expression derived from historical maritime usage, in which it refers to those parts of the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean affected by the Intertropical Convergence Zone, a low-pressure area around the equator where the prevailing winds are calm. The low pressure is caused by the heat at the equator, which makes the air rise and travel north and south high in the atmosphere, until it subsides again in the horse latitudes. Some of that air returns to the doldrums through the trade winds. This process can lead to light or variable winds and more severe weather, in the form of squalls, thunderstorms and hurricanes. The doldrums are also noted for calm periods when the winds disappear altogether, trapping sail-powered boats for periods of days or weeks. The term appears to have arisen in the 18th century - when cross-Equator sailing voyages became more common. Horse Latitudes or Subtropical High are subtropical latitudes between 30 and 35 degrees both north and south. This region, under a ridge of high pressure called the subtropical high, is an area which receives little precipitation and has variable winds mixed with calm. The horse latitudes are associated with the subtropical anticyclone and the large-scale descent of air from high-altitude currents moving toward the poles. After reaching the earth's surface, this air spreads toward the equator as part of the prevailing trade winds or toward the poles as part of the westerlies. The belt in the Northern Hemisphere is sometimes called the "calms of Cancer" and that in the Southern Hemisphere the "calms of Capricorn".

They are between 30 and 35 degrees both North and South of the Equator. An area of High Pressure that received little rain and are warm

In the absence of constraining features in the bed of the system, this process is controlled by the Coriolis Forces, which differ in direction depending on whether you are North or South of the Equator. The Coriolis forces are a consequence of the Earth's rotation. The simplest system to consider, is the winds in the atmosphere.Where, in the Southern Hemisphere (where I am), the low pressure systems run clockwise, and high pressure systems run anti-clockwise. These directions are reversed in the Northern Hemisphere. They apply to both water and atmospheric systems. There is no East / west dichotomy, other than influenced by the Coriolis forces and coastline alignments. However in the equatorial regions these effects are modified by the upwelling of hot air, producing in calm weather, both the Doldrums, and a little towards the poles, the Horse Latitudes.
dryness
Known as the Horse Latitudes 30 to 35 degrees both North and South of the Equator. Conditions are generally warm and dry Same question on science work sheet,no clue???????????????????????????
