The problem is that a slim bit of plastic that supports the switch has broken, allowing the switch, that sits beneath the visible buttons, to fall. With a small screwdriver, gently pry up the flasher button. It is a black, rectangular plastic cap, with a triangular emergency logo, that fits over a white plastic casing. When the button is removed, it should be easy to see places where a hook-shaped tool can be inserted so that the switch can be pulled upward, out of the console. I used a broken-key extractor tool. When the switch is pulled free from the console, the broken plastic support can be easily seen. Push the switch back up into the black plastic housing, and secure it with a permanent glue or with electic tape. I used a drop of super glue. Replacing the switch and housing is a better fix, but I opted for the cheap fix. When the glue has hardened, gently push the switch assembly back into the console, and snap the emergency flasher button back in place. Good luck, JRTiffany
If your turn signal flashers stopped working, play with the emergency flasher button on top of the steering column. Our 97 Sable turn signals quit once and luckily I pushed the emergency flasher button in and out many times and the signals have worked ever since. But the emergency flashers don't work, but I can live with that.
push the button.
Push the flasher button. It will have a triangle symbol on it.Push the flasher button. It will have a triangle symbol on it.
According to my local chevy dealer, it is the emergency flasher relay button and flasher assembly all combined. $75.24.
the flasher relay is part of your 4way flasher button there should be a recall if its not working correctly
Should be the big red triangle button above the CD player.
If you are talkking about the emergency flasher button, than on the bottom of the steering column is a black thing sticking out. You press up in the center off this button to turn on the flashers. Then grab the whole outer ring and pull down to turn them off.. If you are talking about the emergency flasher flasher peice (what actually makes those lights flash), On your fuse panal is a round looking thing. If you pull that off, and replace it with one from a parts store, they will flash again.
The module in the dash is for the turn signals and hazard flashers. It is the flasher unit for both so since this occurs when using either system i suspect the module itself is faulty..it is a common part that fails on these.
I would look on the dash or steering column or in your owners manual.
It is the red triangle labeled button above the radio/cd player.
The flasher activation button is on the right hand side of the steering column. Push on the centre to activate, pull on the ring to turn off.
Look between the steering wheel and the clear plastic window for the gauges. There is a button on the steering column.
