Wrong pulley. Get a correct pulley from the dealer.
Alternatively, consider that the semi-universal pulley you bought from the auto parts store was meant for use by a mechanic who is not blind and has eyes. The mechanic can see that by removing or adding a flat washer you can correct a problem of a non-rotating part contacting a rotating part.

I just changed mine. You need a small puller to get the pulley off. I still broke my pulley (plastic junk). The good news is the replacement pulley is readily available for around $15. The hoses are straight forward and easily replaced if necessary. Hope this helps.

The crankshaft pulley is the only one directly engine driven. All the others are driven by it. ( the crankshaft pulley) If all the other pulleys are turning freely, assuming the total mileage deems it necessary, the belt just wore thin and separated. Just replace it and go. Good luck

The accessories turning has nothing to do with the timing chain, they are connected to the crank/pulley. If the chain broke the motor would probably not turn over. Unless your revving to 8,000+rpms I doubt it broke. I've only ever seen 1 chain break, and that was on a M3 where the drive missed shifted and revs when over 9,000rpms.
