The inside of my oil pan on my 2005 Chevy Silverado (with a 5.3L Vortec) and the metal plate above it looks like they exploded. What could have caused this. I did get water into my engine but did not?

You may have thrown a rod or broken the crankshaft. Remove the oil pump and metal pan and see what you find. A worn piston pin or water in the piston would cause this. I suspect you will find that you have some very serious damage.

The Mass Air Pressure sensor is located at the top rear of the engine, close to the firewall. Remove the Vortec engine cover (I believe it's an 8mm), and from the driver's side, find the rear-most sensor connection (it has 3 wires), and follow it. The sensor looks like this:
