I don't know specifically what the problem could be but you can jack up the rear end until the wheels are off of the ground then rotate the wheels back and forth to see if you can reproduce the noise and check to see if there is any movement up and down or in and out of each wheel indicating bearing or axle problems, check the differential fluid level and also the universal joints for play.

The year of your Chevrolet Blazer will determine whether it has front shocks for front struts. Front shocks are held in place by a retaining bolt on each end of the shock. Remove the retaining bolts and the shock will come off. Reverse the process to install the new shock.
