The timing for a 2.8 V6 is typically 100 BTDC.
The deep notch on the timing gauge is 0* or TDC. Each peak on the gauge is 4* thereafter. There are three slots or grooves on the harmonic balancer. One for each pair of cylinders. One of these timing marks are wider than the other two. That is the timing mark for cylinders 1 and 4.
The 4.3L V6 GM engine does not have a timing belt it has a chain, and it does not directly drive the distributor.
The GM 3.4 litre V6 engine has a timing CHAIN
GM's 4.3 liter Over Head Valve , V6 engine has a timing CHAIN
No , a GM 4.3 litre V6 engine has a timing CHAIN
A GM 3.4 litre V6 engine has a timing CHAIN
The GM 3.8 litre V6 engine has a timing CHAIN
The GM 3.1 litre V6 engine has a timing CHAIN
it should be located on the rear manifold
does a v6 gmc onvoye have timming belt or chain
Timing chain. Almost all of the GM v-6 products have a timing chain. The DOHC 3.4 and some of the caddi motors are the only exception. I have never seen a 60* v-6 GM timing chain fail. But that doesnt mean you shouldn't replace them every 200k miles...
You might check with an auto store or a GM dealer's service dept. to find out for certain but mine is a 1995 Skylark with a 3.1 V6 and it uses a timing chain.
Should be around 40 psi
