Depends on the engine. 4 Cylinder GM engines used a pair of timing gears (no belt), while the V-6 used a gear and chain system. Neither one used a belt (other than the serpentine belt to drive the AC, alternator, Power Steering and water pumps.
Chain
I do not believe your 87 olds cutlass ciera (V-6 or 4) has a timing belt!!!It has gears instead. They usually outlast the life time of the auto.
How do you tighten the serpentine belt on an oldsmobile ciera
yes
Yes
there is no timing belt. It is a timing chain that requires no maintenance.
it doesnt have a timing belt, it has a chain.
It is a chain in a 93, I would think it would be in a 92 as well.
They use a serpentine belt.
I have a 1992 Camry LE and its a belt
The Oldsmobile Intrigue does not have a timing belt. It uses gears. For cars that do have a timing belt, about 60,000 miles. But remember than some engines don't use one.
