If oil is floating also on top of the radiator water? Wait until it's cool enough to remove the cap, though it will say do not remove. The overflow bottle, if it's easy to see into, may also have floating oil. If oil is in all the water, not just coming out of the pump, I'm afraid the block is cracked, my man. $5000. There is a bright side, though. The gasket under the water pump could feasibly be screwed somehow, allowing the oil flow to mix with the water. Either way, take it to a Toyota dealer. Those guys gain nothing by saying it's a cracked block, whereas a "shade tree " mechanic could say cracked block, then make $5000 for cleaning your engine and replacing a gasket!!
NOOOOOOO------That could be the case---but another notoriously unknown issue is the timing chain------the guards break somehow and the chain rubs through into the water pump---if thyere's oil in the water and water in the oil--- that's your issue......(might be)
hopefully not your head...then you're done.
pull the timing cover and check for a groove the chain may have made--- if so, you're looking at a measly $20-$30 Fix.
Fixed mine with JB Weld and new chain and guards----hasn't falied in five years...LOL
On 22R/RE engines 9 Times out of 10 its the timing chain has became loose and rubbed through the timing cover and caused oil to leak through the water pump and into the cooling system. STOP DRIVING IT NOW!
This can also go the other way and have water in the oil that looks like milk in the engine. {flush motor when done} It can also be in both places, oil radiator/water in oil. STOP RUNNING MOTOR!!!
Heres why,
22r/22re motors {ARE} interference engines.
Meaning if the timing chain slips off the gears {very comon}or breaks {breaks are rare}either one will destroy the engine. Replace your timing chain and repair or replace your timing cover and all will be well again. Parts are a couple hundred because if you have over 140,000 mi go ahead and replace oil and water pump since your there. At least the oil pump at min. Labor depends on how machanical you are or who you know? ENGNBLDR.COM has a great kit. He knows Toys too.
Chains loosen by stretching over miles and/or chain tensioner sticking is very comon and chain loses tension usually causing the chains guide on the driver side to break and allowing chain to slap around and rub on the timing cover causing it to rub a hole inside it. It is all repairable and normal issues for high milage 22r engines. Main thing and most important is STOP RUNNING THE ENGINE TILL FIXED. It will Destroy the motor!!!!

Most likely the intake manifold gasket is leaking.
My truck is leaking from the water pump and i dont know where it is leaking from all i need is a diagrame to show me many different ways it can be leaking at so i can look at all the place..
my toyota avensis 1.8se 1999the water is leaking
Most likely your head gasket is leaking.
You should replace the water pump on a 1999 Toyota Avalon when it becomes worn out. You can also replace it when it begins leaking.
You will know if you have a leaky water pump because it will be leaking coolant out of the water pump.
yes it can. If your heater core is leaking it will leak on the passenger side floor in the cab of the truck or car.
yes it does if your water pump is leaking its most likely from there and you will have to get a new water pump installed.
Need more info. Would like to know where this hole is.
Separation of the ethanol due to water in the gasoline.
Because the case is cracked and/or a cell is ruptured. That's probably not just water leaking on the floor. I suggest you buy some cat litter or floor dry and clean that up, quick.
its water make sure the drain hole for the AC is not cloged
