it could be the coolant temp unit. it senses the engine temp and adjust the throttle occordingly so the engine can easly worm up to operating temp. when i first start my 1990 tracker up, it will idle at around 2,000 rpm until it warms up then it will idle at around 700 rpms. automatic idle switch.Nah. Supprised that your engine hasn't 'gernaded'! Something's mechanically sticking in WOT (wide open thottle) when you first start up; like the throttle plate/accellerator cable???
Try checking fuel injector that is what the problem was with mine after checking everything else i replaced injector an fixes the problem
Im having the same problem. Either the cold start things bad or the timings off or both...
Does it have enough compression?
The tappets may need adjustment or replacement, due to wear.
the seals in the transmission are shrunk but will expand when the oil gets warm so it will then shift
Without year make model & engine size you get a guess. Ignition module, coil, distributor
its your opti-spark / the distributor. or it could be in you fuel pressure regulator, ive had the same problem in my 96 Z-28
