You must check the coolant level in your radiator and reservoir. Low coolant levels can lead to overheating. If it's low, you may have a coolant leak that needs to be repaired. Good luck!
Sticky thermostat. Replace it.
Which motor do you have? Because some won't even start if you don't have any coolant in it. The rest will shut off as soon as the truck overheats.
It's possible that you may have a faulty thermostat.
that was the first year of the new body style and there was alot of new parts, what motor is in this truck?, if its the 5.4 then its the coolant temperature sensor, ur truck may not actually be over heating but it is reading it wrong, start with that its a easy fix
unhook the battery for a few minutes, then reconnect. should work.
Since the truck has a turbo, you need to allow it warm up for a couple minutes before you jump on the gas pedal. I find on my 1986 2.4L Pickup if I start it and let it run for about 2-3 minutes it greatly improves the performance of the truck.
still want start any other ideas?please advise
The windings melt. Also may start a fire if surround conditions permit.
Attempt to start the truck by turning the key on the security light should start flashing. Allow the light to flash for 10 minutes light should eventually go off on its own after 10 minutes. Then Cycle the keyswitch again the security light will start flashing again allow this to happen for 10 minutes and cycle the keyswitch one more time after 3 complete cycles you should be ready to turn the truck on and that will be all set.
truck gas flooding
Starting your own tow truck company can be fairly inexpensive if you start out slow. You can start with one truck and build on that as you make more money.
My 2000 was acting the same way, it had something to do with a sensor being bad, and it would make the car think it was over heating, those are the same actions your car will have if it overheats, but we both know that its not, so it could be a sensor.
No. You unplug the block heater BEFORE you start the truck.
