Bmw e28 M5! Same production years, more luxury and it's a Sedan.
There are three on most of the 535i's. One up front which is only used on diagnostic. The two used by the ECU are nearest the clutch ( if standard) or on the drivers side lower bellhousing. Two connectors run up to the metal brace, then into the firewall. Two are identical. Each is REQUIRED for running.
An error E28 code is a lift that sucks

if you mean quad exhaust not dual, the a latest M5's had quad exhausts (E39 and E60) the E34 before them had dual exhuasts on one side, as did the first BMW M5 (E28). however there are some cars that had M tuned suspension and body parts ( front spoilers, interior parts etc.) called M package, but not an Motorsport developed engine. Only Motorsport vehicles from BMW came with the M\\\ badge. Motorsport package vehicles will have M\\\ badges inside on the interior, but not on the exterior of the vehicle. Remember though, you can buy an M badge from eBay for next to no money, so I am sure many people have M badges on their non M vehicles :)
