Sounds like the shift coupler bushings need to be replaced. They will start doing that as a first sign of the bushing going bad. Or, the reverse gear idler inside of the transaxle is getting worn. Somewhat rare thing to happen.
If the gearshift pops out of gear it is probably due to worn shifter detents.
The latch is broken or out of adjustment.
3000gt Mitsubishi 1992 is jumping out of reverse
check your cross member on the gear selector it sometimes pops off
Assuming you're driving a car with a manual transmission, the problem may be worn shifter linkages. Does it tend to pop out of some gears more often than others? While in gear, does the shifter feel loose with lots of free play? You'll have to check the linkages between the shifter and transmission to id Save entify worn bushings to be repaired/replaced.
Column shift you can't. Need to replace the whole overdrive switch. Floor Shift, the bezel just pops off and you can access it.
yes
It is usually bad synconizers that causes trans to pop out of gear however I am not aware of any syncros being in the tranny for reverse. Perhaps your linkage needs adjusted. The syncros allow the gears to mesh up without grinding while the linkage is what moves the levers that move the internal shafts. I would look at linkage first and see if there is an adjustment to maybe lengthen the shift linkage just a bit. It sounds like you are barely catching the teeth in reverse and when you begin to let the clutch out, there's not enough teeth coverage to move the vehicle so it pops out. If you do adjust, just go a little at a time, overadjustment can lead to more problems.
You need to purchase a replacement switch. Installation is easy, remove the door panel and it pops right in.
