Each of the credit bureaus (TransUnion, Equifax and Experian) keep track of the most recent twelve (12) months of inquiries into your credit report. The information is accessible from either:
(1) Your current credit report; or
(2) A monitoring service that you have already engaged to watch for inquiries into your credit.
For number one, if you have not yet done so, you are allowed to request a free credit report from each of the services on an annual basis. If you know which report might have been pulled, you may request that annual report from the specific bureau. If not, and you have not gotten your free credit report for the year, you may use the website "www.annualcreditreport.com" which was created and is authorized by the three reporting organizations to manage online requests for free reports.
If you already have received your free credit report, you may either go to each of the individual bureaus and pay for the most recent report or you may choose to join a service which pulls all of the reports for you on a periodic basis. Generally when you join, you will get the most up-to-date reports from each of the bureaus.
For number two, if you don't have credit monitoring already setup, the option will only help you identify future entities making inquiries. If you do have monitoring already setup, you may go to that monitoring site and select their "inquiries" or "requests" section to see who has recently pulled your credit.
It is possible because it will cause an inquiry on your credit report. But there are a list of other factors to determine if it will cause your scores to drop. 1. How often has your credit been pulled in the last 90 days. 2. How is your credit. Also a utility company can help you establish your credit if you get the account.
You can check your credit report regularly for any unauthorized inquiries. If you notice inquiries from companies you haven't authorized, it may indicate that someone has pulled your credit report without your permission. You can also contact the credit bureaus to place a fraud alert on your account.
I have one colletion agency that has pulled my credit report. I really felt violated. He started telling me about all the stuff on there .. and that I should be able to pay. Either I pay it off in the next 6 months or I'll be sent to court. Is what he is doing legal? Thanks! Legally, no. When you have all three credit scores pulled, most creditors look at the middle score. If you have onloy two credit scores pulled, they will use the lowest one.

The scores we provide are real credit scores pulled from a major credit bureau, not just estimates of your credit rating.
No. They obtain the information they need to check your credit rating, when you fill out the application. Yes & No. According to the FCRA, if you are applying for a loan, line of credit, credit card or employment, you credit can only be pulled with your written consent. Credit Card companies, finance companies, etc., are allowed to pull you credit, but only if they send you an unsolicited offer in the mail containing a toll free phone number to permanantly take your name off of their list. These inquiries do not adversely affect your credit.
Every time someone checks your credit there is the potential for your credit score to be impacted. How much that impact is depends upon the interaction of complex information, like all information about credit scores. Controlling and limiting inquires is a prime strategy in raising credit scores. Even in today's market, you can pick out a car, negotiate with a salesman and make a deal without allowing your credit to be pulled first. Better yet, get your own financing at a bank or credit union, and then go find your vehicle.
3 reports are pulled and your score is the middle number of the 3.
They pulled only from Equifax for me.
No, it is called a soft pulled and the inquiry is only viewable by you.
They are completely seperate, though a US credit bureau can be pulled from Canada and vise versa.
