Uranus then locked his children in the underworld but then Cronus, the youngest of the titans, went with Gaea and castrated Uranus and from Uranus' genitals that were thrown into the sea came Aphrodite. When Cronus did this to his father, Uranus said that one of Cronus' sons would overthrow him so when Cronus and his sister Rhea had children he swallowed all of them until his sixth child whom Rhea hid and swaddled a stone in cloth so Cronus ate it. That sixth child was Zeus. Zeus and Rhea gave Cronus something which caused him to throw up the rest of his children. They were not dead because they were Gods. Zeus then overthrew his father.
