In a way she did and in a way she didn't, she did deserve it because:
· She burnt many Protestants at the stake just because they practiced a different religion from her.
· She lost Calais, the last town that England had control of on the continent.
· She was overall a bit of a bad Queen.

These are the reasons why she could have just been misunderstood:
· She was treated badly as a child (neglected by her father and wasn't allowed to see her mother.)
· She thought that she was pregnant but then found out that it was a terrible sickness instead (which probably made her really upset.)
· Her husband kept on leaving her to go back to Spain.
· Her husband didn't like her and found her unattractive.
· When she burnt the Protestants at the stake, she actually thought that she was doing the right thing and that, just before they died, they would be able to see the error of their ways and would change and be sent to heaven.
