No - even if you believe The Bible. In the bible Adam and Eve were told not to eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge - - BUT - - they weren't told of the penalty involved if they did. Imagine you are the parent of a child and you say "Don't do ...... ", and the child does it. Would it be the child's fault that you then inflict a terrible punishment on it? Or, would you be acting unjustly and unfairly, since you didn't explain to the child what would happen if it did this thing? --- If you don't believe the bible, you might well think that humans are just sinful creatures and didn't 'need' Adam and Eve to 'introduce' sin into the world.

As told in the Christian-Judeo Bible, yes. God specifically told Adam and Eve not to eat the fruit of a certain tree. Eve was convinced by the devil, in the form of a serpent, that God was keeping something from her by not allowing her to eat from the tree. Eve believed him and disobeyed God. She ate the fruit, and then (for any number of reasons, potentially including a wish that she not die alone or a desire to share the opportunity with Adam), she gave Adam some of the fruit, and he ate it.

Both Adam and Eve, the first two humans with a soul, disobeyed God. This caused the rift between God and man that required the sacrifice of Jesus Christ (who we know as God's Son). Jesus was the physical incarnation of God's Word. He was born to a woman who'd never had sex, lived his entire life without doing anything wrong, then he was killed for teaching the world leaders of the time that he was the furfillment of the prophecies that had been written for the past few thousand years.

What made this so cool was that Jesus didn't stay dead- he walked out of his grave after three days (this is something that proved he'd been telling the truth). Jesus' sacrifice allowed every human on Earth to close the rift between themselves and God. Talk to a local pastor, preacher, or other leader of a church for a more in-depth discussion about what you have to believe to become saved by God.

She ate the Apple of Knowledge after God had explicitly forbid it.

Answer:

"...Sin is the transgression of the law." (I John 3:4) -- the breaking of the Ten Commandments.

Eve "chose another god to worship" [Commandment 1] and obey above her Creator.

She "idolized" [Commandment 2] and "coveted" [Commandment 10] what was not hers... and "stole" it [Commandment 8].

She and her husband further "dishonored their Father" [Commandment 5] by "lying" [Commandment 9]; denying responsibility for their actions afterward [Gen.3:12-13].

In the end, they both failed to "repent" of their sins. Neither sought forgiveness. Adam implicated part of the blame on God for giving him the woman who caused him to sin... and Eve blamed "that old serpent."

Their sin was more than one, but: "...For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." (James 2:10)

It was neither, for God knew how they would both react to the temptation which was put before them. They had to transgress the law so that man might be.

Another Answer:

When you read the account in Genesis you will discover that Eve was deceived by the serpent (Satan) into disobedience. However, she offered it to Adam who could of refuese. Adam may have been alone for a while before Eve was formed out of the man, and Adam may have been (I'm confident) directly 'schooled' in the Law of God. Therefore, Adam disobeyed by doing as Eve requested of him and not obeying the command God gave him in Genesis 2:16.

As we are given free will, Adam and Eve could of both refused (choice) and instead eaten of the Tree of Life, giving them a physical life of promise. Would God of continued creating or allowing Adam & Eve to propriate - sure as His Plan is to have a Family of many sons and daughters.

In any event, we are all one flesh. And as our 1st parents (both) sinned, that tendecy to sin has been with all via the generations for we have both good and evil within each of us as the tree they ate from represented. The Tree of Life had been cut off until Jesus came, died, and was resurrected. It will be fully available again post Millennium - now available to only those God calls (John 6:44;65).

Answer from Islamic Perspective
No, Eve was not only the cause of sin of eating the fruit in the Garden of Eden. Both Eve and Adam were responsible.
It is wrong that only Eve was the cause of the sin of eating the fruit. Some people claim that Adam didn't intend to listen to Satan, but Eve cheated him to eat the fruit and accordingly Eve was the cause of the sin. It is wrong claim.

In Quran it is mentioned that Satan cheated both Adam and Eve (and not cheated only Eve and then Eve cheated Adam), both of them ate the fruit, both of them are blamed by God and not only Eve, both of them got naked afterwards, both of them began to sew together, and later God accepted their repentance (towbah) together.

Quran says (English meaning translation):

"O Adam! dwell you and your wife in the Garden, and enjoy (its good things) as you wish: but don't approach this tree, or you run into harm and transgression." Then began Satan to whisper suggestions to them, bringing openly before their minds all their shame that was hidden from them (before): he said: "Your Lord only forbade you this tree, for not becoming angels or being alive for ever." And he swore to them both, that he was their sincere adviser. So by deceit he brought about their fall: when they tasted of the tree, their shame became manifest to them, and they began to sew together the leaves of the garden over their bodies. And their Lord called them: "Did I not forbid you that tree, and tell you that Satan was an avowed enemy to you?" They said: "Our Lord! We have wronged our own souls: If you (Allah) don't forgive us and don't bestow upon us your Mercy, we shall certainly be lost." (Allah) said: "Get both down with enmity between yourselves (mankind). On earth will be your dwelling place and your means of livelihood,- for a time." He said: "Therein shall you live, and therein shall you die; but from it shall you be taken out (at last)." [Quran, chapter7 (Surat Al-A'raf), verse 19 to 25]

Why is the story of Adam and Eve called the Fall?

While the whole story of Adam and Eve is not referred to as the Fall, the section where they disobeyed God is so called because this was when sin entered into the perfect world. Sin and all its effects are degenerative in nature. Formerly, the world was a perfect place and Adam and Eve were in a perfect relationship with God. When sin entered the world, this relationship was then broken. They had fallen from perfection and grace.

Only the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil was forbidden. The fruit of the Tree of Life was freely available until after sin had entered into the world, after which time the consumption of the fruit (while not expressly forbidden) was not compatible in a world of sin with its consequence of death.
