Atheists' political beliefs cover an extremely wide spectrum. Many atheists are conservative and don't think that womens' rights are an important issue, or who are misogynists, especially the most common form of atheist seen on the internet. However, there are plenty of atheists who are outspoken feminists as well.
The American presidential election of 1800 was aptly named the 'Revolution of 1800' for several reasons. The most significant, however, was that it vaulted Thomas Jefferson, perhaps America's most outspoken opponent of federalism, into the presidency: this outcome signaled a movement away from the previously dominant trend of strong federalist control of the nation's highest offices.
