Absolutely there was a "Casper the Camel Show" on in the 50's and 60's in Columbus, Ohio. Casper was a hand puppet worked bySkye Lucy (not sure of spelling). He showed movies and talked during breaks. His sidekick was Chuck Newsom. Together they were hilariously funny. I used to rush home to watch them. They came on about 3:00 PM or 4:00 PM. I would like to hear if anybody has any information on Skye or Chuck.

More on CasperHe may well have been on in late afternoon, but I know for certain that he was on in the mid 50s at noon. That's because in the summers my friends and I would stop our outdoor play at that time to go in and watch him with his Porky Pig and Daffy Duck Cartoons. I believe his show was on WTVN, the ABC affiliate

in Columbus at the time.

Casper The Camel - I loved it - Especially how he closed his mouth - He would have us all say a prayer when he went off the air - It was: "Good Night God - And Thank You God - For Letting Us Love You." And then his mouth would flap shut with a sound - It was really cute, and I have always remembered that prayer!
