We have two large Shubunkin's that have out grown their tank. Will they survive if we release them in to a local lake as we don't know anyone local with a pond.?

If they do survive, they will probably have a negative effect on the local ecosystem. Releasing domestic fish into the wild is a bad idea. Try Craigslist to find someone willing to take them.
