Probably not, though the culture of ancient Rome was rather different than modern culture. To some extent, the "sexes" were regarded as "dominant" and "submissive" rather than strictly "male" or "female." A commander taking the receptive role in a same-sex couple would have been regarded as effeminate, but there was no (or little) such stigma if he was the "active" partner.

It's a little difficult to say. Some undoubtedly were, others weren't. Complicating this is the fact that their culture had some similarities to that of prison in our society: the "active" partner in a same sex couple was regarded as masculine, while the "passive" or "receptive" partner was looked on as effeminate, so it may to some extent not be appropriate to use the modern label "gay" to refer to what was, objectively, homosexual behavior.

Not all of them but some I'm sure were. Before Christianity came into power gay relationships weren't seen as a bad thing. I'm also sure that even after Christianity came into power there were some secretly gay gladiators, why change who you are because a new power has came in?

So yes, I'm sure there were a handful of gay gladiators out there.

Are Romans gay?

Technically, there are no "Romans" any more. Their descendents are just as likely to be gay as any other folks. The ancient Romans were probably just as likely to be gay as other people,as well, but since people back then didn't get all worked up about how "awful" it was to be gay, the ancient Romans were more likely to express it. For what it's worth, Dr. Alfred Kinsey surveyed several thousand American males during the 1930's-40's and found that roughly 30 per cent of them had had at least one homosexual experience to orgasm. Research since then (in America and abroad) has not significantly changed that statistic, so there's a pretty good chance that ratio applied to the ancient Romans, as well.

Was Alaexander the great gay?

The problem here is with the question: the ancient Greeks (and Romans) had no words and hence no concept of what we call gay. If you are asking whether Alexander had sex with males, the answer is yes. But he also had sex with females and even eunuchs.
