I don't believe there are any 93's with the northstar engine. If there are the answer is no, the location is different. Starter is under the intake manifold on Northstar and it is in the front of the engine under the exhaust maniold on the 4.9 litre engine
im pretty sure every northstar has the starter located under the intake plenum in the lifter valley between the heads. youll have to take off the intake to see it, it pokes through the flywheel cover at the top of the transmission. hope this helps.
starter is inside engine.yes I said inside.intake valley and injection system removed, starter is in valley.Big job!!!here it is!The starter on a northstar engine is located beneath the upper intake plenum. This is correct. I have had one replaced on a 95 eldorado. I suggest you go to your favorite auto parts, buy the starter and take car and starter to GM and let them change it. Buying the starter yourself will save around 300.00. .

If that is the Northstar engine, the intake manifold must be removed to gain access to the starter.
The starter for the northstar engine is under the intake manifold in the center of the engine. You have to take all the bolts out of the intake and it helps to take the air cleaner assembly out of the way. Also disconnect throttle linkages, and then you should be able to move the intake out of the way enought o get to the starter.

I believe most late model Bonnevilles use a 3.8L engine. The starter should be next to the engine oil pan on the forward (LH side, facing radiator) extending slightly into the transaxle. It has two mounting bolts. Some of the newer Bonnevilles have the Northstar engine. On a Northstar engine, the starter is located under the intake manifold. To access starter, remove hose clamp and pop the intake manifold out.
