There are 2 thermal switches on a 92 Escort. To find them start at the big hose that goes from the top of the radiator to the engine. Where the big hose goes into the engine is called the water outlet housing. The thermostat goes into the big hose portion and the end of the housing goes to the heater in the passenger area. Between the big hose and the heater hose are 2 sensors. One sends information to the temperature gauge in the instrument cluster. The other sends information to the computer. The single wire sensor is for the gauge. The others are for the computer.
