The best way to lose weight is to start a good exercise program that includes running or jogging. The second best way is to second start singing in a choir, community chorus, or some other group. Those two ways reduce stress. With less stress, you tend to stop using food as a stress reliever. That is important. Stop eating to reduce stress. Find a different way to reduce stress! That is the most important first step. The second most important thing is to decide you will learn to say, "No."

No matter how much you like food, you will leave a little of each item on your plate. Then when you leave a small piece of your pie on your plate and the hostess says, "Would you like a second piece of pie and you say 'No,'" she will see you have not finished the first peace. Even though you know you would really like a second, third, and fourth piece of pie, that little piece left on your plate, keeps you on your diet without your hostess from nagging you to eat another piece. You do not need to give in to pressure.

Then you follow a thin girl through the cafeteria line. She knows how to be thin. You get the same food she gets. You cringe when she bypasses the delicious potatoes. Still, you have decided to eat what she eats. Strangely, you are satisfied and not too hungry when you finish eating.
