Inflammation of the stomach, esp. of its mucuos membrane.
Could it be Giardia?
A Mucopolysaccharide is a gel-like carbohydrate substance that can be found in the bodys cells as well as mucuos secretions and synovial fluids. They act as an anti-inflammatory and can support bones, joints and cartilage.
Can do. There's the same type of mucuos membrane lining your ear ducts as in your nasal cavity. If something is causing the one to swell, the other may also be affected.
If you have a fever, chest pain, or green or yellow mucuos you should see the doctor immediately. Uncontrolled infection is one of the top three causes of death in lupus.
Ventolin and some other anti-asthma preps. tend to decrease mucuos secretions thus making the throat dry and therefore itchy In addition, read the drug literature very carefully. There is at least one puffer in common use which can have a deliterious effect on your vocal chords making you hoarse (or worse). This is overcome by gargling after using the puffer but over here the MDs don't always tell you.
When it goes down the toilet, it goes down the sewers, to a place where it is filtered from water many times, before the water is returned to the streams and oceans where fish live. I assume they use the poo and make fertilizer out of it, or just wait for it to naturally go away.
Nothing that should not happen, the thing seems to work just fine even without having it mutilated. It protects the sensitivity of the glans penis and plays a big part in sexual pleasure itself. It must be kept in mind however that if you do not mutilate the end of a baby's penis by cutting the foreskin of, the child needs to be taught that proper hygiene is required or discomfort and pain can be a result , after he is able to retract the foreskin. The term smegma is one that relates to the collection of dirt under the foreskin of someone that does not wash properly. However that term is wrong Smegma is the cast of skin particles and other excretions that are produced under the foreskin to protect the glans and mucuos membranes in that area. there is no dirt involved. A boy should be the first to pull back his own foreskin when he feels it is right to do so. before that he need not worry about washing under it as no contamination can take place there.
The wall of pharynx consists of 4 layers: 1. Mucosa: Epithelium: Nasopharynx: respiratory epithelium "pseudostratified columnar ciliated with goblet cells". Oropharynx: oral mucosa "non keratinized stratified squamous epithelium". Lamina propria: Dense fibrous layer rich in elastic fibers - contains mucuos glands. Pharyngeal mucosa lacks muscularis mucosae. 2. Submucosa: loose CT 3. Muscular layer: this is composed of inner longitudinal and outer oblique striated muscle. 4. Fibrosa: thin layer of fibrous CT.
The main enzyme in the Stomach is Pepsin which is used to digest protein. Only protein digestion occurs in the stomach and almostt no absorption, (only a little alcohol). This protein is not secreted as its active form (ie not as pepsin) but as the Zymogen (the inactive precursor to proteins) Pepsinogen which cleaves in a low pH to form the active enzyme.
Three substances secreted by the stomach are: 1) Hormones. The most important of these is gastrin, which is secreted by the stomach's G cells. Gastrin is an important hormone in digestion, in that it brings about the stimulation of parietal cells to produce gastric juice, which contains the acid HCl, water, and pepsinogen (a precursor to pepsin). Gastrin is released in response to distention of the stomach, stimulation of the vagus nerve or degranulation of mast cells to give histamine. Gastrin secretion is inhibited by the presence of acid (a form of self-regulative negative feedback) and also the hormones secretin and somatostatin. 2) Acid. The HCl secreted by parietal cells into the lumen of the stomach serves a number of functions. It creates an acidic environment that kills bacteria, denatures protein, hydrolyses the zymogen pepsinogen to its active form, pepsin and provides the optimum pH for pepsin action. 3) Mucus. Mucus is secreted by the gastric gland's mucus cells and, to a lesser extent, mucus neck cells. Mucus is a cloudy, viscous and alkaline substance that forms a thick gel-like coat that adheres to the surface epithelium and protects it from abrasion and the acid content of the stomach. 4) Another important secretion is preoteases, such as pesinogen and rennin.
Yes. This happened to me. I thought I was having a lighter, longer period which lasted a whole week. I didn't find out until my period was due the following month that I was pregnant. I thought I was four weeks pregnant. Several weeks later during an ultrasound I was informed that I was four weeks further along than I had thought. I had mistaken the implantation bleeding for my period! No where in any of my research did I see anything about implantation bleeding lasting that long. Most of the information I found said it lasts hours or possibly a day and only 1/4 of women experience implantation bleeding.
