American Canine Association?

The American Canine Association also known as ACA is one of the largest registries of purebred dogs in the United States. Established in 1984, ACA is also considered America's largest veterinary health tracking canine registry. ACA has sanctioned dog shows in USA, Canada, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. Also has a national recognized rescue team and is active in legislative issues that affects the canine industry, including the support of the Americans with Disabilities Act. In September 9, 2002[1], ACA Rescue Team was recognized by US President, George W Bush, for their rescue efforts after September 11, 2001 attacks. This canine registry recognizes and accepts other registries pedigrees and certificates, including AKC, FCI, UKC, APRI, CKC, among others. Contents To register a purebred canine with the ACA, the canine's parents must be registered with the ACA. If the canine has a foreign registry lineage or parents are not registered with the ACA, you must submit a 3 generation pedigree from the current registry, along with the canine or litter certificate from the current registry. The ACA registration of a canine do not certify the quality and health. Only a certified veterinary may verify the health of the canine. You can also submit the Health Certification Form signed by a certified veterinary and this information will be included in your registration record, to help breeders and owners maintain healthy canine colonies. The American Canine Association encourages all professional breeders to have their breeding colonies certified free of congenital defects by licensed veterinarians. Eliminating many common genetic disorders not only improves the health of the canine populations, but also the industry itself. ACA's blue ribbon panel of nationally recognized veterinary medicine doctors serves as the advisory board for implementing health tracking policies, identifying procedures for addressing health problems, and advising ACA on canine health and behavior issues. To certify your canine colonies, you must download the Health Certification Form[2]. Please advise that this form should be completed and signed by a lincensed veterinary. ACA Dog Shows and Events ACA have supported professionals clubs and organization with sanctioned dog shows and seminars. Many of this organizations include Professional Breeder Associations around US, PPDBA, MPBA, IAPBA, PPA, MNPBA and ABCDA. This organizations offers seminars to educate dog breeders in USDA regulations, health and animal care. ACA also sanctioned national events and championships for the American Ringsport Federation [3], Canadian Ring Sport Association[4], the Caribbean Dog Sport Club. Along with this organizations ACA sanction a wide range of dog sports like: * Conformation shows * Field Trials and Hunt Test * French Ring * Obedience Trials * Dog Agility Trials 1. ^ "President Bush Letter". http://acacanines.com/Bush%20Letter.jpg. 2. ^ "ACA Health Certification Form". http://www.acacanines.com/hcform.pdf. 3. ^ "North American Ring Association". http://frenchringsport.com/.
