What Is The Difference Between The Type LT Camaro And The Z28?
The LT package is "comfort/luxury/cosmetics" package( power seats/lighting packages, etc.) in 1973 it replaced the SS package.
The Z/28 is a performance package, in 1973 it came with
the top of the line 350 245hp vs. only 145hp for a LT camaro
close ratio muncie or high stall th400
higher ratio posi trac rear
stiffer springs/ sway bars
Z28 is an option package that was, well, optional on Camaro's. Basically, a Camaro Z28 is a Camaro that's set up from the factory to be a bit faster than a regular Camaro.
from 1993-2002 the ss is faster. they have the same engine as the z28, but minor upgrades, such as the ram air hood, and cold air intake, etc...
They're the same motor
Just a plain Jane Camaro would have a V6 in it and it has just a plain flat hood with just plain fenders. Z28 would have come with a V8 and has hood scoop and air induction fendrs.
Stock 1993-1997 Camaro (non z28 or Rs) came with a 3.4 sfi motor. All the rs camaros came with the 3.8 sfi motor. So no there is no difference
about 320 Anywhere from between 300-320hp depending on whether or not if it was a Z28 or a SS Camaro.
the SS has different body mouldings and emblems and has more horsepower than the Z28. SS has ram air, suspension, tuning, wheels, hood, and more value.
LT1 is the type of engine. the 96 camaro ss has an LT1, and so does the 96 z28. the difference between the z28 and the ss is, the ss has the ram air hood, and other slp options such as cold air intake, hurst shifter, etc.. but to answer, the ss is faster than the z28, simply because of the small stuff. same engine though. Not that much faster though. A catback and good… Read More

If the Z and the RS both have 5.0's there will be engine enhancements such as throttle body injection in the RS where as the Z28 had tuned port injection, and other minor mods to the engine and suspension. In other words the Z28 was a little bit better and faster than… Read More
