But most oftenly in all countries around the world they use them for masquerades and fancy dress parties. Venetian masks went a little out of fashion when the venetian republic became a part of italy, but in the past 30 years they have come back in fashion.
It depends what they are handling, if it is something toxic, then yes they will wear masks.
