Pros- Was liked more by the people at the time of the Cuban Revolution (vs. Batista)
- better education
Cons- Lied to the people of Cuba about making the country democratic
- made the country communist
- didn't do anything to strenghten relationship with the US
and other stuff
The Pros were that Fidel Castro threw out a thoroughly corrupt Government along with a lot of US gangsters. The cons were numerous, not the least of which was the institution of an unproductive communist state on Cuba.
For the common everyday citizen of Cuba, the disadvantages of living under a communist regime are terrifying. When people have to try to escape Cuba on life rafts and inflated inner tubes, it's clear there is a problem there.
The one good advantage is the climate. OR if you like to smoke cigars.
There are quite a few pros and cons to having a dictator in Cuba. Dictators take the guess work out of ruling but can hurt many people.
