Thomas Edison holds 1,093 patents for his inventions. It is impossible to list them all. Among his best known inventions (which sometimes included many patented parts) are the first practical incandescent light bulb (an incandescent light is one that does not have an open flame), the phonograph for recording and playing music, and the motion picture machine for recording and playing movies.
People know him best for his light bulb, but to make the light bulb actually usable was a very complicated endeavor. Edison also had to invent an improved generator that would produce more electrical power, the network of wires to transmit electrical power from the generator to individual homes and business, the parallel circuit (otherwise, like old-fashioned Christmas lights, if one bulb went out, all the electricity in the house would go out), a way to regulate the flow of electricity to keep it steady, fuses and electrical insulation to make electricity in the home safe, and sockets that not only held the light bulb but also had a switch to turn it on and off.
Edison invented many items including the phonograph, and the Carbon telephone transmitter.
Edison is credited as inventing the Light Bulb, however it was Nikola Tesla who invented the light bulb. Edison's electrical contributions weren't his contributions. Tesla invented AC (Alternating Current). Edison saw this as a threat and electrocuted many animals including cats, dogs, and even a fully grown elephant to discredit Tesla and to show that DC (Direct Current) was better.
The reason Tesla is not credited for the light bulb or electricity is because he came up with a way to use the static electricity in the air to provide the entire world with FREE electricity. At the time, Tesla was being funded by JP Morgan. Morgan, an elitist, saw that he wouldn't be able to make a profit from Tesla's free energy. Therefore, he withdrew his support and started funding Edison.
You'll need to go to a site that can give you a more extensive list of Edison's inventions.
You'll also need to distinguish between inventions (significantly new or completely new ideas) and simple patents (improvements over existing ideas). Edison registered just over 1000 patents in the U.S.
