organic compounds
There are a great many compounds made from hydrogen and carbon, and as a group they are known as hydrocarbons. Petroleum consists of hydrocarbons. Natural gas, also known as methane, formula CH4 is the simplest hydrocarbon.

Carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and carbonic acid are three inorganic compounds with carbon. Each and every allotrope of carbon including diamond, graphite and fullerene are also inorganic compounds.
The process known as polymerisation does.
Every organic molecule contains carbon atoms.
Carbon
Basically, all organic compounds have carbon and organic chemistry is the study of carbon based comounds. Inorganic generally do not contain carbon (with exceptions being carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, metal carbonates, metal bicarbonates and metal carbides).
To list even a percent of all known carbon compounds would be extremely difficult for anyone; there are just too many.

Carbon is fundamental to all organic compounds. Organic compounds contain one or more C-H or C-C bonds. All organic compounds contain carbon, but not all carbon-containing compounds are organic, such as carbon dioxide.Carbon is the foundation for making organic compounds. Every organic contains carbon. Hydrogen is also present in every organic compound.
In general organic compounds / substances / materials contain carbon atoms bonded with other atoms and/or those related to life. It is the chemistry of carbon containing compounds. Inorganic is everything else and generally do not contain carbon (with some exceptions).
Over 50 million carbon-containing (organic) compounds are known so far. In addition, 90% of the new compounds discovered or synthesized each year are also organic. The list is growing.
Traditionally organic compounds are considered compounds containing carbon but today this rule is not valid: inorganic substances as carbonates, carbides etc. contain also carbon. The chemistry of carbon is frequently appreciated as the chemistry of life.
In general, organic compounds are those compounds which contain both carbon and oxygen, and inorganic compounds lack these atoms. Of couse, this does not always apply, as carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide also contain both these elements and are still labeled as inorganic.
Compounds that contain carbon are organic compounds. However, they really consist of carbon and hydrogen, as well as other elements, depending on the classification. Carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO2) are not organic, even though they contain carbon, because they do not also contain hydrogen.
