Chaplains are pastors to people in the armed forces such as the Navy and Army. Chaplains are also used in hospitals. So they do not necessarily belong to one church but minister to a much larger group.

Answer

Chaplains can also be found in hospitals, nursing homes, or any other place where the people or patients are unable to attend religious services. It is also important to note that chaplains may be of almost any faith including, but not limited to: Christianity, Judaism, Islam, etc. As is stated in the first answer, chaplains, military chaplains in particular, need to be familiar with many types of beliefs as they are not normally speaking to groups of people who are of only one faith.

Answer:

Chaplains are paid ecclesiastics funded by a military, public service, health or education organization to provide references to an outdated middle eastern medieval mystic dogma of a specific denomination under the pretence of being a life counselling service in place of actual counselling while diverting funding from needed operations of that service. Generally they are chosen from one of the "majority" religions on the pretext that they will be acceptable to other religious groups.
