is one. It seems harmless. It's just videos right? What could be so bad about that? Putting videos up that were taken without others knowing or consenting is one way that YouTube
can be misused. You may think they are funny, but if someone even jokes about saying no to them being uploaded, it could make them feel self-conscious
without anyone realizing it. Beyond the videos are the comments. All of the opinion and free speech statements that people express tend to usually be hurtful and ignorant of things they say to feel superior.
Tumblr
is another. It is blogging
site where its users can post anything from text and pictures to quotes and links. While bullying can occur on any site, Tumblr's
"ask a question" feature allows questions to be asked anonymously, adding to the amount of hate mail that is sent. Not everyone will say inappropriate things when the other person knows who it is, but when given the option to hide their identity, most people find bullying easier when they remain anonymous, like this website, Answers.com,
at some times.
Twitter for some people, has become an online
diary. The difference between this and a personal diary is an obvious one: anyone can see it if it is online.
The number of teens with depression, anxiety, and those living with a self-conscious
attitude is rising. Subtweeting
(tweeting about someone in a vague way and not mentioning their name) adds to the insecurities that many teens face. Purposefully trying to make someone feel bad about themselves starts another cycle when a subtweet
in sent intentionally for someone to see. That's when cyber
bullying has won again.
They're instances that also include texts and personal messaging. This could be something as simple as, "ur
UGLYYYYY!!!!!"
or could be much worse.
Great example of a cyber bully who is constantly attacking me as i have asked her to stop and so has my husband she continues to write about me and admits to copying and pasting all my blogs and emails since i have known her to save to a file.
More examples of cyberbullying is on facebook 'my name is your dads name'
Well.. bullying via mobile, emailing and msn is different to bullying in the playground because when a person feels they can bully someone without getting caught their inhibitions are let loose and they just go crazy. Some examples are texting racist or derogitory things to another person whilst withholding their mobile number . Another is making fun of them on myspace by sending a bulletin around that a person/persons are pathetic.
here are some examples of being bullied.
1.) being teased
2.) being picked on by bigger/ smaller people.
3.) other kids / adults abusing you or hitting you and getting into fights with. and then saying that you did it to them and they didn't know what to do so they fought back. (its a lot for this one, i know.)
Some examples of cyberbullying is saying bad things to you or spreading dirty rumors about you online. If people are that stupid, they'll believe anything that's online. One way to stop someone from cyberbullying you, is to make sure they go to your school or they live near you and you know where they live, and you have to make sure you know them. Go up to their face and say "If you wanna bully me, do it to my face." And if they don't, then they're too scared and then if anybody sees you do it, they'll most likely tell everybody and then you'll be the hero. And then they will no longer bully you. An unknown person continuously sends you abusive emails.
Workplace bullying can take a number of forms. Here are the types.
Rivalry - Two people want to be promoted to the one slot that is available, and they may wreck or sabotage each other to try to make the other person look less fit for the position. Sometimes it goes as far as filing false sexual-harassment claims against a person.
Gender-related - Perhaps the place was traditionally just for men, and the law forces them to hire women. Some men would have a problem with that. So they may haze the women, play pranks on them, vandalize or break their equipment, etc.
Racially motivated bullying - The place might have been forced to hire some people of a certain race to fulfill hiring quotas mandated by the government. But some of the employees might have a problem with that. Sometimes the racial motivations are connected to rivalry, and someone feels they should get the first chance at a promotion because of the color of their skin, and they may intimidate others in an attempt to get the spot.
Homophobic or transphobic bullying - The person might not even be gay or trans, but people at work still have a problem with them. This might take the form of shunning, where nobody wants anything to do with the employee, or it may take the form of jokes at the person's expense, vandalism, threats, and even violence. The person may walk into the break room, and either everyone stops talking and stares, gets up and leaves, or starts telling hostile jokes. They might find homophobic notes on their desk or PC, find something ugly sprayed on their car, find pornography on their desk, or find sex toys or other inappropriate things in their drawer. There might be notes or graffiti on their locker. If they are male, they may get threats or false accusations of staring in the restroom.
Sexually motivated bullying - An employee might make things hard on someone at work until that person decides to have sex with them. Or there may be a love triangle at work, and the rivals bully each other or resort to physical violence. At a Walmart store, three women were physically attacking each other in the parking lot over a man who also worked there. The fight was so violent that one of the women lost a finger.
