Glycogen is what animals use for short term energy production. So if you are looking at finding food with glycogen either to eat or stay away from it would be protein since this is where animals store their glycogen. When you eat glycogen it must be broken down into glucose and reconstructed in the body and stored as glycogen again.

Some examples of glucose are not really specific. They are found everywhere such as in medicines, food, brewing, manufcaturing, and even in making wine. What a surprise! It is also found in the urine of diabetic patients. It is most common in honey and it is 3/4 sweeter than table sugar.

Polysaccharide Glycogen is a the main energy storage molecule in animals. It is many glucose molecules joined together. This is done for transport reasons. In plants there is a similar polysaccharide called amylose which differs in size and macro structure. There are other polysaccharides beside these.
