1 fact about composte volcanoes is that thay are constructed of many layers of lava and ash. That is the reason they are called composite, because composite means "made of seprate parts or layers".

Composite volcanos erupt very explosivly. this is because viscous magma. When viscous magma floasts to the surface, it clogs the craterpipe. The gas in the creater pipe gets locked up. As a result pressure increasses, giving an explosive eruption.

don't judge me for knowing all this stuff! i had to do a volcano report for science class!!!!! if u want to know more just ask!!
stop doing this t me

1. Most composite volcanoes occur in chains, rather than singly

2. Also called Strato-volcanoes

3. Often exceed 2500 meters in height (8000 feet)

4. Composite volcanoes erupt quietly with great amounts of ash and very explosively because viscous magma. When viscous magma floats to the surface, it clogs the volcano's pipe. The gas in the pipe gets trapped and creates intense pressure and then erupts with great power.

5. Composite means, "made of separate parts or layers" as in made of layers of hardened ash and lava.

6. There are 452 composite volcanoes in the Pacific Ring of Fire. The volcanoes are located in a volcanic arc on the continental side of subduction zones.

7. After a composite volcano becomes dormant, erosion begins to destroy it until all that is left is a caldera or some eroded dikes and sills.

Examples are Mount St. Helens - Washington state, Mount Rainier - Washington State, Mount Vesuvius - Italy, Mayon Volcano - Luzon Island Philippines, Mount Fuji - Japan, Mount Cotopaxi - Ecuador, Mount Shasta - California, and Mount Hood - Oregon
