The onset of puberty would be both a major milestone and a potential danger in that they are still innocent children now starting to sport sub-adult to adult bodies with none of the experience and control that some other adults have. It is also a time when children become interested in sex and the bodies hormones start going haywire. Maturing bodies, interest in sex, easily lead astray. Those are the dangers for that age.
