I just had the same situation with my 98 Sable - starts & runs fine, 5 minutes later won't start. Happened 4 or 5 times over the course of almost 3 weeks.
Ultimately the pump just totally failed.
It sounds like you have eliminated the power supply as the source with the new wiring. I wouldn't be surprised if you're not going to end up with a new fuel pump in the near future.
Electrical equipment that is defective should be where possible repaired and if not repairable it should be replaced.
Have the speed sensor replaced.
possible open circuit. have an electrical shop take a look.
Check TSB 08-31-98A. My multi function switch had to be replaced. (Part # 5012382-AA)
perhaps the wiper switch is broken and needs to be replaced.-- The delay part of the Switch.
The flasher is just for controlling the intermittent electrical current. There is also a fuse in the fuse block under the dash. It could be in the switch on the column.
the symptoms you describe sound like a starter problem. replace it and your problems will be through!
Some basic electrical items - like for example a fruit blender or even a washing machine - can be replaced with mechanical systems that need other form of power (like human power). We can say that such electrical items replaced the mechanical items in the first place. For other items - like cell phones or TVs - no we can not replace the electrical power.
Yes.
It's possible you might have some debris in bottom of your gas tank. That debris might be getting sucked up into the fuel pump. It is most likely the electrical connection on the flange. It's a 4 pin connector that is intermittent at best. I've had it happen on 2 different chevy's and the only way to fix it is to remove the plug and hard wire it in.
If you get sparking in an electrical switch there is a loose connection or short in the circuit. The switch should be repaired or replaced.
Yes, My ignition module was bad, I experienced intermittent stalling. My mechanic replaced and it stopped.
