the symptoms you describe sound like a starter problem. replace it and your problems will be through!

Maybe you have a problem in your main wiring harness. No fun.. Could also be an electrical sensor.
Start with the coil(s) and the ignition control module. This is usually the cause of intermittent problems. Also check the fuel pressure...maybe a bad fuel pressure regulator. Did you put on a new fuel filter with the pump? That should give you a place to start.
If the lock cylinder is faulty, the entire steering column lock assembly will have to be replaced. reference " Haynes Repair Manual"
