The precautions are the same as for any toolsor work sites:

* the safe operation of all tools should be known * presence of worker in area known to others

* location dry and free of slip trip and fall hazards * work station ergonomically sound

* operators should wear PPE appropriate to the job - eyes, hearing, skin

* sharps should be properly disposed of

* all electrical tools should be properly grounded * all hot tools should have guards to prevent burns * all tools producing dust or vapour should have ventilation systems in place * toxics should be properly labled and stored. MSDS shets available.

* tools should be in excellent condition * broken tools should be dscarded or professionally repaired * no inappropriate use * no horseplay * first aid immediately available * no kids or pets around * everything off and secured when done * all spills cleaned up immediately * general lighting and ventilation systems appropriate to task * no loose clothing or hair
