This question has so many answers, but to sum it up, let me say this. Drive it home....don't "hint" beat-around the bush, or beat a dead horse with a stick!
Most men prefer the direct approach. Hints, random flirtations, well timed statements are often misconstrued for other feelings or intentions.
Comments with sexual undertones can lead one to think the wrong thing (unless this is your true intention) not to mention, others hearing you making these statements can often start the rumor mill, and then you are labeled.
Being a guy myself, I like a woman who would just walk up to me, (in private of course) and enlighten me to her feelings. A few men can be disarmed by this approach, but for the most part, a little "wake-up" call could be the right thing. Too many women, (and men) have lost out because they couldn't put in to words, their feelings!

However, batting the eyes and then acting shy works well too, but only if the guy notices it, as too many are interested but don't make the move or just don't notice it.Also, whatever you do, just because he doesn't notice you the first time, that doesn't mean that your chance with him is gone, as that is just not true.
Repeat flirts (the romance kind) are always good, as you should only stop if they continuously ignore you, as once or twice shouldn't deter you, as perseverance is golden.
