Nationally, they revolve around the monsoon seasons. Khmer New Year starts in April, along with the rains. The water festival, which involves a huge regatta on the Tonle Sap River, happens after the harvest sometime in November. Both involve a change in direction of the flow of the river.

At a personal level, many of the things that are associated with Thailand actually came from the Angkor Empire: Sompeahs (bow with hands together as in prayer, Thais call it a wai); Therevada Buddhism: boys compelled to go to the Wat for at least a short period of time after leaving school, people give alms to the monks in the morning; titles of respect for elders and endearment to juniors (Bong means sir, and it is ubiquitous in their speech).

Some traditions have clearly come from India (as did Hinduism in this area when Angkor was at its height), such as pointing one's toes away from others. Like Indians, they have great consideration for the hierarchy of their every body part.

Other traditions are ubiquitous throughout Asia: removing shoes before entering a house; having a massive extended family with each familial relationship bearing its own title; sexual ultraconservativism: women are mostly virgins on their wedding day (itself an ordeal that lasts for many days and involves many dresses for the bride), they don't enjoy sex, only men do (but they are shy about it and will not discuss such matters with a liberal foreigner).
