I'm pretty certain you are referring to ANABOLIC steroids, and I think you are asking what the symptoms of addiction to them are. When dealing with the word addiction, you have two types. Physical, in which the body itself may become seriously ill, or level lead to a fatal event in the abrupt absence of a given substance. The other is psychological addiction. Although less of a threat to the body, the symptoms can cause the body to become ill, although to a much lessor degree. Depending on the level of addiction, the general symptoms mainly include anxiety, depression, nausea, weakness, temporary impotence, (I am referring to anabolic steroids here.) also often acute psychological problems including but not limited to possible violent acting out. A person who has been on a high dose for a long period should be seen immediately at the ER for evaluation and consideration for involuntary inpatient detoxification. Do not underestimate these substances. Due to the fact that they are illegal implies a substandard setting in which they were manufactured. Much of these substances have been made from among many other things - Horse urine. Anabolic steroids taken without a (legitimate) doctors prescription, run the risk of Breast Cancer (yes I said it, and women risk it too), prostate cancer, and even worse Liver Cancer. Hepatitis A and B are also very common, and B can be fatal if not taken care of immediately. This is a big problem, and more can be written about it. I hope this helps.
