Lincoln was elected President in 1860. During Lincoln's presidency, the Southern states seceded from the Union because Lincoln and the Northern states were against slavery. Six weeks after becoming President, the Civil War began. In this war, the Northern states fought the Southern states. The Civil War lasted from 1861 until 1865. Linclon should deal with slavery with more power in his presidency to make the south states take his orders without a war.

If a vice president serves two terms as vice president how many years can they server as president if they are elected?

I did some research and it turns out that they can only serve 2 years in office after their 8 years in office as a vice president. Totaling the years that they can serve at 10. So there would be no point to try to run for the presidency after 8 years in the vice presidency. This is a newer law that is not known by most including me until today.
