The first treatment would be to throw away the food you have been feeding him and the treats and start fresh with a 4-5 star dog kibble and 5 star canned food if you use both. Make sure it says (grain free) on the bag and the treats need to be grain free too as your Boston has Allergies, most do. Once you do this it is a good idea to bathe them once a week to remove anything on the skin with some Tar and Sulfur shampoo which you can buy at Petco or the vet. Until the hotspot goes away apply hydrocortizone and tea tree oil mixed half and half with almond oil or olive oil. To stop the licking use the tea tree oil mixture because they hate the smell of it. Once they clear up don't ever give them cheap food again or anything containing wheat. Even Milkbone dog biscuits have wheat in them so it is hard. dogfoodreviews.com

A Boston Terrier's short coat, which can be black and white, brown and white, or brindle and white, sheds very little and requires minimal grooming. Infrequent baths, with a towel rubdown in between, is all that is needed for these dogs. They are sometimes considered "hypoallergenic" and are well tolerated by people with allergies. A solid white coat in a Boston Terrier usually indicates genetic weakness.
